Keke Palmer put $500,000 of her own money into KeyTV, the creator-first network she launched in 2021 to give underrepresented Black creators a place to make work. Then she got involved.
Palmer helped slate projects, sat in on auditions and, particularly in the early days, worked directly on the crews and production decisions. The point was never to put her name on a platform. It was to build one that could create access for other people.
That instinct runs through the rest of her portfolio: brand leadership, Big Bosses Entertainment, her podcast, her book Master of Me, and the development of Practice by Palmer.
She grew up around professional actors — both of her parents had been actors before taking full-time jobs — and learned early what access can mean to a career.
Now she’s building the access herself.
