Sarita T. Finnie, Vice President, Cardiovascular Marketing, Novartis
Sarita T. Finnie’s work at Novartis is built around a deceptively simple idea: preventing heart disease only works if people can see themselves in the effort to prevent it.
Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States, but the people most at risk don’t always get screened, diagnosed or treated at the same rate. Finnie sees marketing as part of that problem — and therefore part of the solution. If healthcare advertising keeps showing the same patient, everyone outside that picture can assume the illness belongs to somebody else.
That belief has followed her through a career spent inside the machinery of healthcare marketing. At Bayer, she also led the company’s global women’s employee resource group, giving her a direct line into questions about who gets heard inside an organization.
For Finnie, representation isn't decoration. It can change who recognizes that care is meant for them.
