Katelyn Watson, Chief Marketing Officer, Talkspace
Talkspace’s marketing problem was never about getting people to know the brand. It was getting them to believe that seeking mental healthcare could actually fit into their lives.
Katelyn Watson, CMO since 2022, has spent her tenure widening that idea. Talkspace moved from being understood primarily as a therapy subscription toward a broader mental-health destination, with clinicians involved in the creative process and real members — from teenagers to people in their seventies — at the center of the storytelling.
She also led the launch of Tee, Talkspace’s AI-powered mental-health guide, built with clinical oversight. That creates a different marketing challenge than AI in most categories: the promise cannot outrun the trust.
The work has also meant expanding access through insurance, Medicare and TRICARE, because in mental healthcare, “available” and “affordable” are not the same word.
Watson’s job is ultimately to make the distance between wanting help and actually getting it feel smaller.
